An October morning in the Cataloochee Valley of Great Smoky Mountains National Park — the eastern range that’s only been elk country again since the 2001 reintroduction. Pre-dawn and rut, bulls calling across the cold mist before the meadow began to lift.
The encounter is the source for several pieces in the catalog. Each design pulls a different frame from the same morning — the bugle, the silhouette, the bull mid-stride — kept clean enough to live on the garment without losing what made the moment.
An elk crossing an open field at the edge of fall color — the kind of frame that only happens when the mist has not burned off yet and the foliage is at its exact peak.
Misty Elk carries the full photograph onto the back panel, keeping the atmospheric depth of the original image: layered tree line, morning mist, the animal in motion across the frame. It reads as a scene, not a print.
